George Main Stakes 2012 – Nominations Announced

Eleven horses have been nominated for the 2012 Group 1 George Main Stakes (1600m), which will be run at Royal Randwick Racecourse this Saturday.

The George Main Stakes returns to Randwick after the 2011 edition (won by Sincero) was held at Rosehill Gardens.

Chris Waller-trained Shoot Out heads the nominations for the 2012 George Main Stakes.

The High Chaparral gelding will return to the races for the first time since the Autumn Racing Carnival, where he won the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600) and was placed in the Ranvet Stakes (2000m) and Doncaster Mile.

Also included in the nominations is boom colt All Too Hard who will race over 1600m for the first time.

The half-brother of Black Caviar did not run in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) after finishing a disappointing fifth in the Run To The Rose (1200m).

Evergreen nine-year-old Danleigh has been nominated for the 2012 George Main Stakes, fresh off his victory in the Chelmsford Stakes (1600m).

The gelding will be a five time Group 1 winner if he is successful this Saturday.
